STATUS ASSESSMENT

BEP performs a GAP Analysis Review as part of our Status Assessment. This is the first step in the process that customers should perform if they have decided to pursue ISO certification or implement a standard.


When performing a Status Assessment, we determine the differences (gaps) between the customer’s existing Management System compared to the requirements of the ISO standard.


Gaps are identified where existing policies, processes, procedures, etc. do not fully meet the standard’s requirements.

The outcome of our Status Assessment allows customers to plan for the improvements needed to bring their existing Management System in conformance with the requirements of an ISO or Tailings standard. This allows customers to establish accurate budgets, timelines and expectations which are proportional to the state of their existing Management System.

The time needed to carry out a Status Assessment will vary depending on the organisations size, complexity of its processes, applicable legal requirements, and the standard(s) employed or proposed to be implemented. In general, our auditors are able to audit up to 4 processes or 8 employees in an 8-hour day covering all aspects related to an ISO or Tailings management standard. For larger and more complex organisations more auditors will be applied to shorten the duration of the audit.

To following customer information are needed to prepare a Status Assessment quotation:

  • The ISO or Tailings standard to be reviewed,

  • Vision and Mission of the organisation,

  • Main and remote facilities with associated products and/or services as described in the Management System,

  • Number of departments at each facility (e.g., Finance, Operations, Maintenance, HR, IT, Marketing, Shipping, Procurement),

  • Number of processes at each department (e.g., HR – Recruitment, Selection, Hiring, On-boarding, Training, Employee relations, Performance appraisals),

  • Number of employees per process and department.


After receiving the required information from the customer, BEP will provide a Status Assessment proposal. A 50% deposit is required for BEP to set dates for the Audit, with the balance to be paid after the Audit is complete. As part of our Status Assessment customers receive a GAP analysis report and BEP proposal to further assist with an Assisted or Managed Implementation.
