DESKTOP AUDIT
A BEP Desktop Audit is a documented information and systems review of an organisation’s management system at a static customer location and considers for example plans, programs, policies, procedures, processes, contracts, registers, forms and records maintained as evidence to verify compliance against an ISO standard.

The scope of the audit can be adjusted to focus on a single clause up to verifying compliance against all clauses of an ISO standard. The audit scope can be applied to a single department up to the entire organisation. BEP allows customers to choose the level of detail audited by varying the scope of the audit and selecting the amount of audit hours. Customers enhance the value they receive from a BEP Desktop Audit by selecting auditees knowledgeable of their documented information management system and systems being audited. BEP adjusts the audit questions based on the customer audit scope and intensity (total audit time) needed.
BEP is geared to also perform remote ‘desktop’ audits with our auditors and the customer’s auditees at different locations while conducting the audit. Desktop audits are conducted utilising internet-based software platforms such as Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc. To ensure adequate communication when providing such a service the customer must have access to a reliable internet connection operating at internet speeds of at least 8 Mbps.

Our desktop audits provide customers the opportunity to direct our auditing capability in a manner that meets their needs, whether it is to get an overview of the status of their current management system, to prepare a team to be exposed to a first certification audit, or to do a detailed review of their system in search for sustainable opportunities for improvement. We will help you verify that your business implemented documented information and systems as required by the ISO standard and associated legislation to demonstrate adequate conformance in the event of an audit, investigation or prosecution. The audit also provides an indication of the effectiveness of your documented information control system.

Customers value our desktop audits for an unbiased review of their documented information and management systems at a given point in time, for the expert advice from our auditors and receiving a list of ‘gaps’ that can be prioritised for further action. The BEP team will also propose an affordable business solution to assist customers to sustainably bridge all gaps identified.

To following customer information is needed to prepare a Desktop Audit quotation:

The ISO management standard to be audited against,
The clauses to be audited,
Vision and mission of the organisation,
Main and remote facilities with related products and/or services included in the management system,
Number of departments at each facility (e.g., finance, operations, maintenance, HR, IT, marketing, shipping, procurement etc.),
The facilities and departments to be audited,
The number of processes in each department (e.g., HR – recruitment, selection, hiring, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance appraisals),
Number of employees per department and process,
The preferred duration of the audit (minimum 4 hours),
Policy, system procedures, system manual.
After receiving the required information from the customer, BEP will provide a Desktop Audit proposal. A 50% deposit is required for BEP to set dates for the Audit, with the balance to be paid after the audit is completed. As output, customers will receive an Audit report including a proposal to mitigate gaps to comply with the standard.
