SECOND PARTY AUDITS

This type of audit is an internal review, where the organisation is responsible to assess the effectiveness of their management system against an ISO standard, and to evaluate compliance against all requirements they have set for themselves.

Second party audits can be performed by the organisation themselves or be contracted out to a third-party organisation. To get value from a second party audit it is important that the auditing team gives an objective opinion of the state of the management system to sufficiently prepare the organisation for their certification audits. The auditing team should not have a vested interest in the area being audited or the outcome of the audit results.

BEP assist customers to perform objective second party audits based on the requirements of the ISO standard. The scope of the audit can be adjusted to focus on a single clause up to verifying compliance against all clauses of an ISO standard. The audit scope can be applied to a single department up to the entire organisation. As output customers will receive an audit report listing the gaps and non-conformances identified. The audit report will also include a proposal to mitigate gaps to comply with the standard.
